The Škoda 1202 was a classic concept car, which was developed and manufactured at the AZNP plant in Vrchlabí and was also a modernized version of the previous Škoda 1201 type, from which the 1202 type differed mainly in its more stylish body design.
The "Twelve Twenty" was created as a temporary replacement for the developed trambus commercial vehicle, which later became its successor, the Škoda 1203, the development of which was accompanied by countless complications, which significantly delayed and interrupted the implementation.
The most frequently produced variants of the Škoda 1202 included the station wagon (STW) and ambulance versions, as well as a van, pick-up and hearse. Between 1961 and 1973, around 60,000 vehicles were produced.
